A pluggable storage module includes a CPU-unit and a plug-bay for receiving the pluggable storage module. The control module (1) is provided with a device (5) which recognizes erroneous data during a read-access through the CPU-unit and corrects and subsequently communicates the corrected data to the CPU-unit, which during a write access writes the corrected data into the storage module (1). Independent claims are included (a) for a module for automation equipment and (b) fault-tolerant automation equipment.
