PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking apparatus which is constructed such that a traveling carriage transfers a vehicle between a plurality of parking towers to load/unload the vehicle in/from the same, wherein the traveling carriage for transferring the vehicle is arranged in a loading space for allowing quick and safe passage of persons and loading/unloading the vehicle to thereby dispense with lifting machines or guide rails in the loading space, and wherein a flat floor surface is formed by vertically moving a traveling rail. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the parking apparatus, the plurality of parking towers from a first one to an N-th one are arranged side by side, and a lifting machine 2n is arranged in the N-th parking tower 1n, whereby the traveling carriage 3 provided therefor can receive/deliver the vehicle. A traveling passage 4 for the traveling carriage 3 extends from the first parking tower 1 to an elevating space E in the N-th parking tower 1n and therefore the traveling carriage travels through the plurality of N-th towers. The first parking tower 1 has the loading space S, and a lifting machine 2 is arranged therein so as to reach an upper story or a lower story of the loading space S or both the stories. The lifting machine 2 is constructed such that a mounting carriage 10 receives the vehicle C from the lifting machine 2n and then travels to the loading space S to receive another vehicle from the mounting carriage 10.
