PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rescue system capable of detecting that any person onboard a ship falls into water without using a water detection sensor, and correctly grasping the position of the person fallen into water. SOLUTION: The rescue system 1a comprises a position information reception unit 101 to receive position information of a ship related to each other from an onboard terminal 30 installed on the ship and position information of a person onboard the ship, and a fall-in-water determination unit 102 to determine whether the person onboard the ship is on the ship or falls in water based on the position information of the ship and position information of the person onboard the ship. In addition, the rescue system 1a further comprises a distress position specifying unit 103 to identify the position of the person onboard who falls in water when the fall-in-water determination unit 102 determines that the person onboard falls in water, a rescue boat selection unit 104 to select a rescue boat 40 based on the position of the identified person onboard, and a rescue information transmission unit 105 to transmit a rescue request including the position of the person to the selected rescue boat 40.
