<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an individual authentication device highly reliable at the time of authenticating a user. <P>SOLUTION: The device comprises: a pulse detection part 17 for detecting contact with a human body; a fingerprint detection sensor 12 for detecting fingerprint information; a RAM 28 for storing the fingerprint information of a specified person; and a control part 26 for discriminating whether or not the fingerprint information detected by the fingerprint detection sensor 12 and the fingerprint information stored in the RAM 28 match on condition that the pulse detection part 17 is in contact with the human body and authenticating the person who brought the human body detection part 17 into contact with his own body and made the fingerprint detection sensor 12 detect the fingerprint information as the specified person in the case that the respective pieces of the information match. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
