PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide capable of attaining both an improvement in heat resistance and a reduction in birefringence, and having small propagation loss and high reliability by solving the problem that a material used for an optical waveguide is required to make loss of propagated light as small as possible and to retain its physical properties, particularly optical properties even under a severe external environment, but conventional organic transparent materials are insufficient for performances required for the optical waveguide material. SOLUTION: This composition for forming an optical waveguide comprises an epoxy compound (A) containing a specified spiro ring structure (s) and/or a (meth)acrylate (B) containing the structure (s), wherein a content of the structure (s) is 40-95% of the total weight of the components (A) and (B).
