PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a meter box cover for holding its consistent heat retaining effect by preventing the separation of a heat retaining plate material of a styrene foam or the like except when manually removing it. SOLUTION: The cover comprises a protrusion integrally provided on the reverse, which is in an inverted conical shape and which has supporting holes formed inside, the heat retaining plate material fitted to the protrusion, and anchoring members inserted through the outer face of the heat retaining plate material into the supporting holes of the protrusion. The cover is made of cast metal. The heat retaining plate material uses the styrene foam, the anchoring members are pin materials each having a slanting annular protruded strip, and the supporting holes are each in an inverted conical shape along the outer peripheral face of the protrusion.
