PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving circuit and a receiving set which have a wide permissible frequency range, can deal with burst signals too, are small in a circuit scale too, consume less power, and are capable of obtaining demodulated outputs whose distortions are small. SOLUTION: A desired signal having passed a band pass filter 6 is amplified by using a LOG amplifier 7. A current/voltage converting amplifier 8 converts the output of the LOG amplifier 7 into a voltage signal which matches with a proper input level of a digital converter 9. The digital converter 9 converts the voltage signal inputted from the converting amplifier 8 into digital data, and outputs the data to a digital signal processing circuit 10 as LOG data. The processing circuit 10 maintains the average level of a modulated signal at a constant level, and converts the LOG data from LOG-property signals to linear-property signals by digital signal processing.
