PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic box-packing device which greatly reduces impacts being applied to the bottom section of an external packaging box or a lifter. SOLUTION: A push-in device 9 for inserting an article group under an aligned state into the external packaging box has an openable/closable shutter 13 on which the aligned article group is mounted, a holding plate 8 which pinch-holds the article group on the shutter 13, a push-in plate 14 for depressing the article group on the shutter, and the lifter 15 which is arranged under the shutter 13 and vertically moves between a standing-by position waiting for the articles W by mounting the external packaging box C, and a position which is lower than the descend-stopping position of the plate 14. This article pushing device for an automatic box-packing device is equipped with the push-in device 9 an aligning conveyor 6 on which an article housing section is installed, and which circulate-moves, and an introduction conveyor 3 which is arranged in a manner to be confronted with an article receiving position R being arranged on the aligning conveyor 6. The lifter 15 is constituted in such a manner that the descending motion may be started when the push-in plate 14 has reached a specified position, accompanying the descent of the push-in plate 14.
