DEVICE FOR PREVENTING UNAUTHORIZED USE OF LITERARY WORK RECORDING MEDIUM

A device for preventing unauthorized use of literary work recording medium which enables only a purchaser to reproduce and copy the literary work recorded on the literary work recording medium. When the encrypted literary work recording medium is purchased by the purchaser, the purchaser's fingerprint is registered so that the purchaser can use the medium. By using an IC card and other recording medium data read/write device, a literary work recording medium unique identification database and a decryption key database are read from a literary work recording medium identification database so as to be written onto a recording medium such as an IC card. Fingerprint data on the purchaser of the literary work recording medium is read by a fingerprint authentication device. The purchaser fingerprint data, the literary work recording medium unique identification data, and the decryption key are written onto the recording medium such as an IC card by the IC card and other recording medium data read/write device.
