PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas temperature increasing device capable of efficiently increasing temperature of exhaust gas.

SOLUTION: The exhaust gas temperature increasing device 1 heating the exhaust gas discharged from an internal combustion engine 30 and introduced to a continuous regeneration-type particulate filter device is disposed between the continuous regeneration-type particulate filter device capable of continuous regeneration for scavenging particulates contained in the exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine 30 and the internal combustion engine 30 separately from the continuous regeneration-type particulate filter device. Accordingly the continuous regeneration-type particulate filter device can be made compact, and the exhaust gas temperature increasing device 1 can be mounted afterwards to an automobile with the continuous regeneration-type particulate filter device being already loaded.
