A lamp shade which can be folded to reduce its size for shipping, display and storage, having an upper ring, a lower ring, and a number of supports interconnecting, separating and supporting the upper and lower rings. In one embodiment, the supports are separate trapezoid-shaped single piece supports which are disconnected from the rings for collapsing the lampshade. In another embodiment, the supports are separate U-shaped single piece supports which are disconnect from the rings for collapsing the lampshade.
