PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for deciding the position of the optical axis of a lens on lens shape so that the normal line of sight and the optical axis of the lens can be aligned with each other or have an optional designed specified angle when adjusting spectacles. SOLUTION: A wearer puts on the optional frame of spectacles in pleasant circumstances that an adjustable part is adjusted. In optional attitude, a triangle formed by setting the normal line of sight, the arm of the frame of spectacles, and part of a front frame as three sides is specified, and an intersection on the surface passing through the lens shape is specified while the optical axis of the lens is aligned with the normal line of sight or has the optional designed specified angle therewith by setting the vertical diameter (distance between the upper edge and lower edge of the frame) of the lens shape and the curve of a lens surface as an auxiliary constant. In this case, a following line-of-sight deciding instrument is used. The instrument includes a transparent base plate having center display and 1st reference line display passing through the center display, a transparent rotating disk rotatably held concentrically with the center display of the base plate and having 2nd reference line display aligned with the 1st reference line display, a relative rotational amount measuring means provided on the base plate and the rotating disk, and a laser beam emitting means attached to one end side of the 2nd reference line display of the rotating disk.
