PURPOSE: A field emission display and a method are provided to simplify manufacturing procedures by integrally forming a focusing electrode and an electron extraction electrode on both sides of an insulation substrate. CONSTITUTION: A field emission display comprises a cathode deposited on a cathode electrode so as to emit electrons by the strong electric field applied to the cathode electrode; and an electron extraction electrode(174) and a focusing electrode formed on both sides of an insulation substrate(175). The electron extraction electrode is applied with a driving voltage for emitting electrons from the cathode. The focusing electrode permits the electrons emitted from the cathode to be focused to an anode portion deposited with a phosphor.
