<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pretreating material composition which enables the simple understanding of a suitable pretreating time at a clinical dental treatment site on the pretreatment of the un-ground enamel of tooth before an adhesive treatment, wherein insufficient decalcification or excessive decalcification is liable to be caused only by a constant pretreating time, because the easiness of the decalcification and thereby a suitable pretreating time are largely different due to the uptake of fluorine or the adhesion of dental plaques. <P>SOLUTION: This pretreating material used for dentistry and comprising a 30 to 50 mass % aqueous phosphoric acid solution is characterized by containing a coloring substance represented by the formula [Q<SP>n+</SP>is an n-valent cation such as K<SP>+</SP>or N<SP>+</SP>; (n) is an integer of 1 to 3]. The color of the pretreating material containing the coloring substance is first yellowish green to green, but is changed with the advance of the decalcification. When the decalcification advances to a needed level, the color of the pretreating material is changed into a light blue color at the approximately same timing. Thereby, when the pretreating material is immediately washed with water at the time of the change into the color, excessive decalcification can be prevented, and the risk of the dental caries of the pretreated portion can hence be lowered. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
