PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing system by which a person unskillful at machine operation can simply make an emergency notice, and a management center receiving the emergency notice can easily confirm the state of a noticer's home and can quickly make the notice to a fire station, a police station or the like. SOLUTION: The information providing system is provided with: an emergency notice signal generating section 16 for generating an emergency notice signal in response to an operation of an emergency notice button by a user; a supervisory camera 17 for photographing the inside of a user's home; a speech means comprising a microphone 13 and a speaker 12; a transmission reception section 5 for transceiving information with the management center 4 through a communication line 2; and a control section 19 for making an emergency notice to the management center 4 in response to the emergency notice signal, transmitting a video image photographed by the supervisory camera 17 to the management center 4, and uses the speech means to bring the management center 4 and the user into a speech state.
