An copyright management system comprises a copier for copying an original and/or data, a copyright database for storing copyright management information having information indicating a permissibility of copying the original and/or data, and a copyright management server for sending in response to an inputted sending request the copyright management information to a requesting source, those being connected to each other through a network, wherein the copier obtains an identification code for identifying the original and/or data from an RFID embedded therein, sends an obtained identification code to the copyright management server, requests the copyright management server to send the copyright management information associated with the original and/or data thereof, and determines the permissibility of copying the original and/or data of the identification code included in the copyright management information based on the copyright management information sent from the copyright management server in response to the sending request. |
