PURPOSE: An error detection method of pattern type using a register is provided to prevent unstable operation of peripheral devices related with NC by detecting an error of input/output data. CONSTITUTION: The error detection method of pattern type using a register detects an error during data communication between NC and PLC connecting an address port and a data output port and a data input port using a connector and a cable. Test pattern data is recorded in an error detection register comprised in NC and PLC by a control unit of NC. Test patterns recorded in error detection data of NC and PLC are read and then transmitted to the control unit of NC. Test patterns of the error detection registers of NC and PLC are compared. If an error is not detected, error detection is performed periodically. And if an error is detected, data error detection state information is transmitted to an upper controller.
