PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deep hole cutter, for properly connecting both connecting end parts, when connecting a rear end part of a drill head to a tip part of a shank. SOLUTION: In this deep hole cutter, the drill head 2 is detachably connected to the tip part of the shank 3, and cross-sectional V-shaped chip discharge grooves 4 and 5 are formed in the longitudinal direction on an outer peripheral surface of the shank 3 and the drill head 2. A recessed step part 10 is peripherally arranged on one outer peripheral surface of both connecting end parts. A projecting step part for checking the axial directional movement of both of them by fitting to the recessed step part 10 by a spigot, is peripherally arranged on an inner peripheral surface of the other connecting end part fitted around this one connecting end part.
