PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording method which enables a so-called "margin-less recording" wherein recording is stably performed to the endmost part for the front and rear surfaces of a recording medium under a stable state while performing the normal carrying of the recording medium without paper jamming. SOLUTION: After performing the "margin-less recording" on the front surface of the recording medium 105, carrying for performing the recording on the rear surface of the recording medium 105 is performed after standing by for a specified period of time. Thus, after an ink which has been absorbed for the recording on the front surface is sufficiently dried and fixed, and a strength by which the normal carrying can be performed at the endmost part of the recording medium 105 has been restored, the carrying for the recording on the rear surface is started.
