PURPOSE: Provided are a diamine compound and a polyamic acid prepared therefrom, which is capable of producing a liquid crystal alignment film having excellent printability, liquid crystal dispersion and high pretilt angle with lower defective rate. CONSTITUTION: The triazine group-containing diamine compound is represented by the formula 1, wherein X, Y and Z are a direct linkage, -O-, -COO-, -CONH- or -OCO-, n is an integer of 0-12, and A is a monovalent C1-C10 organic group with a linear type, a branched type or its combination. The diamine compound-containing component(a) is reacted with acid dianhydride component(b) to prepare a polyamic acid containing a repeating unit of the formula 3, wherein X is at least one selected from functional groups of the formula 4, Y is at least one selected from functional groups of the formula 5, Z is at least one selected from functional groups of the formula 6 or the formula 7, Z' is at least one selected from functional groups of the formula 7. The liquid crystal alignment film is manufactured by coating a substrate with a polyamic acid solution and subjecting the solution to entire or partial amidation. |
