PURPOSE: An ophthalmic apparatus and a method are provided to improve injection of fluid into the eye of a patient by using an eye position setting unit for positioning the eye in a desired position for administering a fluid. CONSTITUTION: An ophthalmic apparatus comprises an eye position setting unit for assisting operation of positioning an eye of a user(8) in a desired position for administering a fluid to the eye; and an applicator(10) for dispensing the fluid into the eye when the eye reaches the desired position. The eye position setting unit includes an eye position sensor; and a feedback element for receiving information from the eye position sensor, and providing feedback information to the user such that the user moves his/her eye to a desired position.
