<p>An antenna device includes a plurality of radiation elements (ANT1, ANT2), at least one or more reactance elements (6), and a changeover switcher (2) for selectively switching over between one circuit pattern forming a first-type antenna such as a diversity antenna where a predetermined one (ANT1, ANT2) of the plural radiation elements (ANT1, ANT2) is used as a feed element, and another circuit pattern forming a second-type antenna such as an ESPAR antenna where one (ANT1) of the plural radiation elements (ANT1, ANT2) is used as a feed element while the reactance elements (6) are connected to the other radiation element (ANT2). According to this antenna device, the receiving sensitivity can be improved by using a reduced number of radiation elements (ANT1, ANT2) in a mobile communication apparatus such as a cellular telephone. <IMAGE></p> |
