Heat exchanger having a ceramic bottom

A heat exchanger is supported on an insulating base (24) shaped to collect condensed water. A heat storage element (25) is incorporated into the base, in contact with the collected water in order to evaporate same and prevent the accumulation of impurities, fungus etc. The heat storage element can be made from a variety of materials including ceramic, glass and metals and is positioned centrally under the heat exchanger. The specific thermal capacity of the heat storage element is at least 0.7 kilo Joules per Kg per deg. K. The insulating base and the heat storage element can be joined by clip fastening.
