[Also in Division F2] A control wheel which may form one of the wheels of an inclined track of a roller or wheel conveyer, for providing braking action on articles moving down the conveyer, comprises a stationary hub part 10 coupled by restraining means 48 to a rotatable rim part 12. The means 48 comprises an escapement 70, 72 driven by a gear train which steps up the rotational speed of the rim part 12. A tyre 44 which engages the articles is located in a channel formed when annular walls (24, 26), Figs. 2-4 (not shown) are secured together by rivets 38.</p> |
