PURPOSE: A device for reducing a crest factor of a signal and a method therefor are provided to reduce a crest factor without information related to individual channel, and easily design a band filter. CONSTITUTION: A large signal extraction module(20) receives an input signal and a magnitude value of the input signal for extracting a large signal larger than a predetermined threshold. A large signal transformation module(30) converts the extracted large signal into monotonically increasing concave function. A large signal filtering module(40) filters the large signal to pass a predetermined band of the large signal. A delay(50) shifts a phase of the input signal. A combining element(60) combines the signal output through the large signal filtering module(40) with the phase-shifted input signal to reduce a crest factor.
