PURPOSE: A device for editing a virtual channel of an ATSC(Advanced Television Systems Committee) transmission signal is provided to parse the transmission signal to select a portion including the virtual channel and edit the portion into desired virtual channel number, to thereby solve the problem that a receiver does not catch a correct digital broadcasting channel. CONSTITUTION: A device for editing a virtual channel of an ATSC transmission signal includes a transmission signal reproducing unit(10) for reproducing a transmission signal, a virtual channel information recognizing unit(20) for parsing the transmission signal to select a portion including the virtual channel, and a designated virtual channel information editing unit(30) for determining edition of a virtual channel number desired by a local cable broadcasting company. The device further includes a controller(40) for deleting the virtual channel provided from the virtual channel information recognizing unit based on the determination of the virtual channel information editing unit, and inserts the virtual channel number provided by the virtual channel information editing unit to edit the virtual channel number into a desired virtual channel number, and a VSB(Vestigial Sideband) filter(50) for VSB-modulating the frequency of the virtual channel edited.
