FIELD: processes for cutting materials, namely turning quenched steels. ^ SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of moving cutting tool with use of axial feed motion at forming continuous chip. In order to lower labor and power consumption at turning process, chip is pressed by its rough side to turned surface by means of spring-loaded roller moved along axis of part at speed equal to feed motion speed of turning tool. ^ EFFECT: lowered labor and power consumption. ^ 2 dwg
