PURPOSE: A TOC(Thin film transistor On Color filter) array type LCD device is provided to omit a separate process step of forming an align key by simultaneously forming the align key when forming a color filter layer, thereby avoiding loss of an aperture ratio. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a TOC array type LCD device includes the steps of forming a color filter layer(112) and an align key(114) around the color filter layer on a substrate(110) using a color resin material, forming a buffer layer at a region covering the color filter layer and the align key, forming an amorphous silicon layer at a region covering the buffer layer, forming a dummy pattern based on the align key in a first region on the amorphous silicon layer, doping the exposed amorphous silicon layer using the dummy pattern as a mask to define the doped amorphous silicon layer as source and drain regions, removing the dummy pattern, crystallizing the amorphous silicon layer in which the source and drain regions are defined, and patterning the crystallized silicon layer based on the align key to form a semiconductor layer.
