PURPOSE: Provided is a surface treatment method for improving an adhesive strength of painting applied on a metal surface like in a spring for use in an automobile suspension device by performing a silane treatment step, thereby enhancing corrosion resistance of the spring and ensuring a stable painting quality. CONSTITUTION: The surface treatment method comprises: primarily rinsing a metal surface to remove alien matter(S1); trimming the metal surface(S2); applying a zinc coating on the metal surface(S3); secondly rinsing the metal surface to stop a zinc coating reaction(S4); drying the resultant metal surface(S5); applying an amino-based silane solution to the metal surface to form a silane coating(S6); applying a paint mist to the metal surface(S7); and drying the resultant metal surface(S8).
