PURPOSE: A brake transmission shift interlock and a method thereof by ABS(Anti-Lock Brake System) controls are provided to prevent a vehicle from moving forward or reverse by automatically operating an ABS if a driver operates suddenly an accelerator pedal by mistake. CONSTITUTION: A method for preventing a sudden starting by ABS controls is composed of steps for measuring the operation of an accelerator pedal generated by a driver and outputting a corresponding signal(ST10); judging a sudden operation condition of the accelerator pedal by the output signal(ST20); outputting a signal corresponding to RPM(Revolution Per Minute) of a driving wheel if for the sudden operation condition of the accelerator pedal(ST30); judging a wrong operation of the accelerator pedal(ST40); and outputting a control signal if the accelerator pedal malfunctions(ST50). The step for judging the wrong operation of the accelerator pedal comprises steps for deciding that the vehicle travels if the signal for indicating the RPM of the driving wheel is not zero; deciding that the vehicle stops if the signal for indicating the RPM of the driving wheel is zero; and judging that the accelerator pedal is operated wrong if the accelerator pedal is suddenly operated and the RPM of the driving wheel is zero.
