PURPOSE: To provide a steel for plastic ejection mold excellent in machinability and weld repairing characteristics. CONSTITUTION: The steel for plastic ejection mold having outstanding machinability has an alloy composition comprising 0.10 to 0.30 wt.% of C, 0.40 to 0.70 wt.% of Si, 0.90 to 1.50 wt.% of Mn, 0.005 to 0.020 wt.% of S, 1.0 to 2.5 wt.% of Cr, 0.10 to 0.50 wt.% of Ni, 0.20 to 0.5 wt.% of Mo, 0.001 to 0.20 wt.% of V, and the balance being Fe. |
