TUNNEL BORING MACHINE AND TUNNEL CONSTRUCTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunnel boring machine and a tunnel construction method, which enable the continuous boring of tunnels different in cross-sectional shape, which bring about simplification of an apparatus and a reduction in the cost of the apparatus, and which enhance workability. SOLUTION: A multi-cylindrical slave boring machine body 12 is supported in a multi-cylindrical master boring machine body 11 in such a manner as to be disengageable forward; the body 12 is fitted with cutter heads 14a and 14b which can be driven and rotated by supporting cutter driving parts 13a and 13b; and the driving parts 13a and 13b can be moved along a horizontal direction by eccentric movement mechanisms 15a and 15b while their attitudes are maintained.
