DATA PROCESSOR, DATA PROCESSING METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processor which effectively switches encoding processing in order to realize high image-quality and high compression.

SOLUTION: A printer 2 selects image data to which an irreversible filter processing is applied or image data to which the filter processing is not applied according to attributes (a creation image or a scan image) of an image element included in the image and applies a reversible encoding processing to the selected image data. The filter processing makes the encoding processing efficient by converting pixel values, the printer 2 dynamically switches reversible compression/irreversible compression by adoption or rejection of the filter processing and performs compression processing according to local image characteristics.
