PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact sewage treatment apparatus maintenance cost of which is low, which requires no pump or water storage tank. SOLUTION: This sewage treatment apparatus comprises a filtering device 34 and an ozone processing facility comprising an ozone generator 9, an ozone dissolver 19, an ozone reactor column 8, and an exhaust ozone treatment apparatus 17. The ozone processing facility is provided before the filtering device 34, a catalyst-added filter medium 25 carrying a metal oxide catalyst is mixed into a filter medium 33, and ozone is mixed into filter medium cleaning gas 26 of the filtering device 34. The component of the metal oxide catalyst may be at least one of manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, cerium, tungsten, copper, silver, gold, palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, and iridium. Exhaust ozone gas 16 recovered in an exhaust ozone recovering device 20 may be used for the filter medium cleaning gas 26. The ozone dissolver may be of an in-line type. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
