Architecture for conserving power in a mobile communications device operating in discontinuous reception mode. The reacquisition time associated with a received signal is determined based on the active window size of the signal, resolution of the coarse sleep clock of the mobile communications device, frequency of the coarse sleep clock, and multipath time differential. The reacquisition times for a plurality of mobile device products are determined and stored in a look-up table in the mobile device. Thereafter, once the particular active set window size is determined from the received signal, the corresponding reacquisition time is retrieved from the table and used to periodically activate the mobile communications device so that the received signal can be processed to determine if a paging slot message is available. |
