<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer management system which limits the use of a printer according to each user's history of using consumables and which properly manages emergent use. <P>SOLUTION: In the printer management system 1, a client information processor 30 requests a printer management processor 20 to ask whether or not the printer is usable upon a print request from a user. Based on a previously stored ceiling value for the use of consumables by the user and his/her history of use obtained from the printer 10, the printer management information processor 20 determines whether or not the use of the printer 10 is permitted and sends usability information to the client information processor 30. Based on the usability information, the client information processor 30 controls the sending of print data to the printer 10.
