<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer transport device in which the capability to transport developer is improved without making a mechanism extremely complex or disposing an expensive sensor and accuracy of the amount of developer supplied to a development device relative to the required amount is also improved, and to provide an image forming apparatus that has the developer transport device. <P>SOLUTION: The developer transport device includes: a tubular member 1a having a supply port 2 and a discharge port 3 for developer; a transport member 4 that has one or more spiral face 4b on a rotary shaft 4a, is rotatably supported within the tubular member 1a, and transports the developer from the supply port 2 to the discharge port 3 by rotation; a drive means 5 that rotates the transport member 4; and stop means 6 and 7 that stop the transport member 4 rotated by the drive means 5. When the angle of the rotation reaches 360/M×N[°] after the drive means 5 has started the rotation of the transport member 4 (wherein M is the number of the spiral faces 4b on the conveying member 4 and N is an integer that is equal to or larger than 1), the stop means 6 and 7 stop the rotation of the transport member 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
