PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state electronic imaging apparatus which is capable of carrying out image processing more quickly. SOLUTION: False pixels are inserted among actual pixels (step 71), and a post filtering process of adding color components to the false pixels is performed (step 73) when the number of recording pixels of images which are recorded on a memory card exceeds the half of the number of the actual pixels of a CCD. When the number of recording pixels is smaller than the half of the number of the actual pixels of the CCD, the false pixels are not inserted for an increase in the number of the pixels of the CCD (step 63), and a sampling process is carried out (step 64). When the number of recording pixels is smaller than the half of the number of the actual pixels of the CCD, the false pixels are not inserted for an increase in the number of the pixels, so that the solid-state electronic imaging apparatus is capable of carrying out image processing at a higher speed.
