PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for collecting seeds of ark shells by which seeds of the the ark shells growing at a rate not inferior to that of a conventional seed and having high commercial value can be collected by more intensive tending while reducing labor and improving the production efficiency; and to provide a method for producing the seeds of the ark shells, a basket for culturing the ark shells, and a method for culturing the ark shells. SOLUTION: The tool 1 for collecting the seeds of the ark shells is obtained by arranging many tape bundles 5 obtained by folding back a water-resistant tape 4 having a specific gravity lower than that of seawater several times, at an interval, linking the intermediate part of each of the tape bundles 5 with a linking material, and fixing a weight 3 to one terminal of the linking material. The basket 10 for culturing the ark shells is obtained by covering the inside bottom part 12 and the inside side parts 13 of the basket with a napped material 11 having about 3 cm length of napped fiber. The ark shell seeds are collected by inserting the tool 1 for collecting the seeds of the ark shells into the seawater in which the larvae of the ark shells float, and the spats of the ark shells attached to the collecting tool 1 are inserted and cultured in the interior of the basket for culturing the ark shells.
