PURPOSE: A composition of an expanding agent for electric rock fracture is provided to reduce the amount of flying dust, the generation of sound and vibration, and to make collection of explosion residues convenient. CONSTITUTION: The composition of an expanding agent for electric rock fracture comprises: a metal powder selected from metals useful as a reducing agent such as magnesium, iron, copper, aluminum and nickel; a metal salt selected from sulfates, chromates, nitrates, nitrites and metal oxides for oxidizing the metal powders; and a hydrocarbon compound added as a combustive oxidizing material.
