PURPOSE: An optical inspection system for preventing over-detection of a flexible printed circuit board and a method thereof are provided to preventing over-detection of flexible printed circuit boards by performing optical inspection. CONSTITUTION: An optical inspection system for preventing over-detection of a flexible printed circuit board includes an unwinding part(110), a pattern detection part, an inferiority processing part, a winding part(140), and a control part. The unwinding part(110) is used for continuously providing a plurality of flexible printed circuit boards. The pattern detection part detects patterns of the flexible printed circuit boards provided from the unwinding part(110). The inferiority processing part displays flexible printed circuit boards determined as inferiorities. The winding part(140) winds printed circuit board units after circuit pattern detection.
