METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETECTING OUT-OF-MEMORY AND GRACEFUL SHUTDOWN USING SMALL MEMORY MANAGER

PURPOSE: A method and a system for detecting out-of-memory and graceful shutdown using a small memory manager are provided to offer time for performing data backup or curing managements before confliction of failure application programs by making the small memory manager hold a part of the memory allocated to the application program for recovery. CONSTITUTION: The first spare buffer unusable to the application program is preliminarily allocated in a memory block until the recovery(404). When a memory usage by the application program is reached to a threshold, the application program uses the first spare buffer by recovering the first spare buffer(408). When the memory usage by the application program is reached to the threshold, an alert is generated(410).
