<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily certificate the personnel necessary in an operation for maintenance etc., of a communication device and to securely manage device information regarding the communication device under the control of a center device. <P>SOLUTION: Biometrics sensors such as a fingerprint sensor are arranged at keys etc., of the console panel 32 of a complex machine 4 one over the other. When service personnel touches a key, biometrics data are automatically read out and the complex machine 4 extracts features of them and transmits the data after the extraction to a service center device 2 together with maintenance information. The service center device 2 which manages device information on the complex machine 4 compares a featured part of the received biometrics data with biometrics data of the service personnel who are previously registered to authenticate the service personnel, thereby updating the maintenance information of the complex machine 4. Consequently, the service center device can easily and securely certificate the service engineer by using the biometrics data of the service engineer. Further, the service personnel can update the device information of the complex machine etc., without the trouble to input a password.
