PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic sensor that can be miniaturized and is low cost. SOLUTION: The magnetic sensor comprises a substrate 11 having an upper surface and a rear surface; a glass glazed layer 12 provided on the upper surface of the substrate 11; a pair of upper surface electrodes 18 provided on the upper surface of the substrate 11; a pair of rear surface electrodes 19 provided on the rear surface of the substrate 11; a pair of through electrodes 17 that is provided on the substrate 11 and electrically connects the pair of upper surface electrodes 18 and the pair of rear surface electrodes 19; a magnetoresistive element 13 that is provided on the glass glazed layer 12 and is electrically connected to the pair of upper surface electrodes 18; a protective film 16 provided on the magnetoresistive element 13; an IC chip 20 that is provided on the protective film 16 and is electrically connected to the pair of upper surface electrodes 18; and a mold section 22 that is formed on the upper surface of the substrate 11 so that the glass glazed layer 12, the pair of upper surface electrodes 18, the magnetoresistive element 13, the protective film 16, and the IC chip 20 are covered.
