PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing boride fine particles having particle diameters suitable for a solar radiation shielding material at a low cost, the boride fine particles manufactured by the same, and a dispersion liquid for forming the solar radiation shield using the boride fine particles. SOLUTION: The boride fine particles 19 suitable for solar radiation shielding are obtained by forming a precipitate 13 by dropping an NH<SB>4</SB>OH solution as an alkaline solution 12 to an aqueous solution of La(NO<SB>3</SB>)<SB>3</SB>6H<SB>2</SB>O as X compound solution 11 while stirring the aqueous solution, then preparing a La-hydroxide being a hydroxide 14 of the X by washing 53 and drying 54 the precipitate, adding B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>as a compound 16 containing boron and carbon black 17 to the La-hydroxide, uniformly mixing them, subjecting the resulting uniform mixture to firing treatment 57 at a temperature of <1,500°C, and further pulverizing 58 the fired material. The dispersion liquid 21 for forming the solar radiation shield is prepared by mixing the obtained boride fine particles 19 with a solvent 20 so as to disperse 59 the particles 19 into the solvent 20.
