<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a uniform surface layer by appropriately preventing settlement of particle components in a paint without generating convection in a dipping tank, and to thereby stably produce a member of high performance for an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: By this production method, the member for the image forming apparatus is produced including a member body, a coating film provided on the surface of the body and containing the particle components. The method includes a dipping process for forming the coating film by dipping the member body into the dipping tank filled with the paint containing the particle components.
