PURPOSE: Provided are a suppressant of toxicity, such as hepatotoxicity, kidney toxicity and the like, induced by a cancerchemotherapeutic agent and a composition of cancerchemotherapeutic agent containing the same. The suppressant contains xanthorrhizol as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION: The suppressant of toxicity, such as hepatotoxicity, kidney toxicity and the like, induced by a cancerchemotherapeutic agent, is characterized by containing, as an active ingredient, xanthorrhizol. The cancerchemotherapeutic agent is selected from cis-diamminedichloroplatinum(II), carboplatin, oxaliplatin, nedaplatin and the mixture thereof.
