摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential device capable of securing its power distribution performance during both regular rotation and reverse rotation. SOLUTION: The differential device 50 is structured so that a left 53L and a right follower shaft 53R are installed on the rotational center line Cr in a space 51a of a transmitting member 51 and the power is distributed to the follower shafts from the transmitting member through a left 60L and a right engaging/disengaging mechanism 60R, and further a pawl disengagement restriction mechanism 90 is provided, wherein the transmitting member is arranged movable in the axial direction. The configuration of the engaging/disengaging mechanisms is such that a left 71L and a right follower member 71R are installed on the two end faces of the transmitting member, the follower members are mounted on the follower shafts with their relative rotation restricted and in such a way as movable for a certain amount in the axial direction, engaging pawls to engage each other are formed on the mating surfaces of the transmitting member and each follower member, and that the follower members are put repulsively to the end faces of the transmitting member. About the engaging condition of the left pawls with each other and the right pawls with each other, one of them is disengaged when the difference between the load acting between the left pawls and the load acting between the right pawls has exceeded the reference value in the condition that the transmitting member is rotating in the regular direction, and the engaged condition is kept on both sides at all times when the transmitting member is rotating in the reverse direction.
