PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an effect that a management man-hour becomes very small since firmware does not need to be revised even when a product is frequently revised. SOLUTION: A network device control system is provided with a specified private MIB object to which a firmware version can be written and a means of varying a standard MIB to a value corresponding to the firmware version when the firmware version is written to the specified private MIB object.
