PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for measuring optical load are provided to exactly measure a load by using an optical position detecting sensor. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for measuring an optical load includes a structure member(4), a first reflection mirror, a second reflection mirror, a light emitting member(6), and an optical position detecting sensor. The structure member(4) has a slit groove, and the slit groove is curved by exerted load. The first reflection mirror and the second reflection mirror are mounted on both sides of the slit groove in the structure member(4). The light emitting member(6) irradiates light on the first reflection mirror and the second reflection mirror. The optical position detecting sensor is installed on the structure member in order to detect the position of the interference pattern generated by light reflected on the first reflection mirror and the second reflection mirror.
